Network engineering continued ...

This is a continuation of the earlier posts starting with this one: http://ravinote.blogspot.com/2020/09/best-practice-from-networking.html

  1. Customers expect upgrades to proceed smoothly and only when the version is released. They do not expect the upgrade for every trouble they encounter with their existing installation.

  2. Network unavailability or packet loss might occur despite the best effort of the product and its design but the deployment is a joint responsibility between the customer and the maker.

    Networking
products are like appliances with a machine-like efficiency curve. It is best to keep the product from thrashing.

    1. Trouble tickets are handled by people who want to help. They are like messengers and could be given accord to do their job.

    1. The networking products become streamlined for the need they serve.
