Just as AI observability evolved from model monitoring into decision accountability, perception observability is likely to evolve from object detection into world-model accountability. The systems that succeed will not simply identify what is visible. They will explain how every conclusion emerged, how it changed over time, and how an investigator can independently verify it. Even with an LLM-as-a-judge paradigm, the validation must remain independent.
The ability to
defend a perception-derived belief through a complete chain of evidence becomes
the defining characteristic of trustworthy aerial intelligence.
